Formula One (F1) racing in My Dinh sports complex
Formula One (F1) racing originated in the European Grand Prix of the 1920s and 1930s, in 1946, the rules were standardized by the FI. The name of Formula 1 refers to the set of rules that all participating teams must follow, originally called Formula A. The first World Championship race was held in 1950 at Silverstone (England).
Of the 21 countries hosting the 2018 Formula One, there are six countries and territories in Asia. Japan was the first Asian country to hold the Formula One race. After two seasons of 1976 and 1977, Japan halted and returned in 1987. The remaining five countries and territories were China, Singapore, Malaysia, Macau and Bahrain.
When the plan to organize F1 tournament around Hoan Kiem Lake was not agreed, Hanoi proposed to organize at the My Dinh sports complex.
At the press conference on 30 August, answering the question about information of VnExpress Hanoi is negotiating to organize Formula One (F1); Minister, Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung said that the Government and other ministries support the above policy of the city.
According to him, after receiving the recommendations of Hanoi, the Prime Minister has assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Planning and Investment and relevant ministries for comments, assess the impact, in particular the opinions of the people where the race is scheduled.
“Firstly, the city is expected to organize the racing around Hoan Kiem Lake and some nearby roads. But the ministry considered unreasonable, the organizers also found unsatisfactory. Most recently Hanoi reported the proposal to organize a race in the My Dinh sports center, “Mr.Dung said.
Leaders in the Office of the Government have further information, My Dinh sports complex has synchronous infrastructure which are routes available, so if you race here, just invest in surface, middle road.
“The F1 race is interested, many countries have successfully organized and when Hanoi consulted people in the region to organize the race received high concurrence,” Dung said.
Minister Dung said that the organization of the F1 race will be an opportunity to attract international visitors, promote the image of the country, the capital. However, Vietnam is in the process of negotiation, the content related to tournament organization, advertising … will be studied in detail later.
The Prime Minister has asked the Hanoi socialization of the entire cost of the organization. As stipulated in the Law on Physical Training and Sports (amended), effective from January 1, 1919, the authority to decide on the organization belongs to the chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.
